For seven years now, we have been using Beterra's services to outsource two separate business processes at a Russian business unit.

First, they implemented an EDI protocol that we find easy to use: all original documents go to Beterra. We need receive no source paperwork from either the suppliers or customers of the Moscow office, or the payroll service provider that processes our business travel expenses.

Second, they have built a system for in-process control of bank accounts for settlements of all kinds — from an enquiry from the group's central treasury in the form of ERP system export to communications with the bank on payments and statements.

Thus, Beterra serves as our comptroller at the payment stage and liaises between the Russian company, the head office's treasury, counterparties and the bank.

Beterra's analysts offered to migrate all business accounts to a 1C: Full Automation 8 configuration and customized the 1C standard configuration for us. That proved a success – we are now in a position to make sound managerial decisions.

They also built us a warehouse management system to process a broad range of merchandise in real time. As a result, we managed to integrate our warehouse inventory control with other accounting data and got detailed IFRS-based analytics using profit and cost centres for month-end close.

In the process, we divided areas of responsibility: we are responsible for inventory control, the provider for bookkeeping and accounting at the Russian member of the group.
